Our Dream Wedding ...

NOTE: The pics above aren't professional pics ... we're still waiting on our pics ... it's been almost 5 months but I'm patient ... Julia Bailey is truly an artist and we're excited to have had the opportunity to work with her:

Kristopher and I definitely wanted the wedding to take place in NOLA (New Orleans Louisiana). After all, not only do we adore this beautiful, romantic and unique city (i.e., the music, culture, cuisine, energy, fun and excitement) but we both trace our roots back to Louisiana. In fact, Kris was born in Alexandria, LA. Another reason we chose New Orleans as the perfect site for our wedding is Hurricane Katrina. I had family members who were affected by the hurricane and despite the fact that they no longer make the Crescent City their home, Kris and I wanted to do our part to bring business and to help to continue to revitalize that amazing city. We wanted our guests to celebrate more than just our wedding ... we wanted our guests to come celebrate New Orleans!

Our wedding day (May 23, 2009) was amazing ... we wanted to make sure that everything about the event "oozed" New Orleans. The wedding took place in the heart of the French Quarter in true New Orleans fashion ... including the live jazz trio who performed Charlie Parker's "Embraceable You" as I walked down the isle. Following the ceremony, Kristopher and I and our guests were greeted by the Algiers Brass Band and escorted by Officers of the New Orleans Police Department to the streets of the French Quarter for a traditional 2nd line parade in celebration of our union. People in the Quarter danced, took pictures, and clapped as we paraded down the streets. A reception immediately followed the cocktail hour and our guests were entertained by a fabulous deejay and a live band. It was truly a blessed day! "MY" perfect wedding ...
